Help the CopperDog 150!

This year’s CopperDog 150 Dogsled Race will be held March 3rd, 4th and 5th. Last year, more than 500 volunteers helped make the race successful. Jobs range from dog handling, to monitoring road crossings, to setting up and tearing down the infrastructure. There’s something for everyone, and you’ll work with a great group of people! Take part individually, or with a group of friends or family. Volunteer training will take place on Sunday, February 26th from 1:00 to 3:00 at the CLK Schools Multi-Purpose room. See what jobs are available, and sign up at CopperDog150.com. Our Todd VanDyke will be volunteering as the voice of the CopperDog again this year. Make plans to take part!

Yooper Luge!

Build a sled, and join us at the Yooper Luge, Saturday, February 25th, in Downtown Houghton. Isle Royale Street will be turned into a super sledding hill. Use it for fun, or take part in the competition that afternoon. There are divisions for kids and adults. Our Todd VanDyke will be the event announcer again this year.

Our promotional partners for the Yooper Luge include the City of Houghton, the Frank A Douglass Insurance Agency, RE/Max Douglass Real Estate, Pepsi of Houghton, the Library Restaurant and Brew Pub, Moyle Construction, Surplus Outlet, Tadych’s Econo Foods, the Douglass House Apartments, and Swift True Value Hardware.
